Newsletter – 19 November 2018

Annual General Meeting this week (Nov 22nd) – reminder

Our last newsletter, sent on November 7th, consisted of our AGM agenda and all but one of the officers’ reports. It would be helpful if you could print out a copy for you to refer to during the meeting – or, even better, bring it on your electronic device. The one document not yet published is the accounts up to the end of last season. They are due to be checked by our Independent Examiner and there will be paper copies at the meeting.

A few spare copies of all the reports will be be available for those members who don’t subscribe to the newsletter or don’t have a functioning printer. As usual, the AGM will start at 19:30 and be followed by our screening of The Other Side of Hope at about 20:00.

The previous newsletter can be accessed at: http://abfilms.org.uk/2018/11/07/newsletter-7-november-2018/.

The AGM is an opportunity to take stock of what ABCD Film Society has achieved over the past year, but also presents you with a platform to discuss its future. Please attend.

2001: A Space Odyssey – Science Museum IMAX screenings

We recently received a message from the Science Museum telling us about these screenings, which take place this month. ″We will be screening from a new print, put together under the supervision of film-maker Christopher Nolan using original 1968 negatives, which has never been shown before in the UK”.
