HELP URGENTLY NEEDED

Future of ABCD Film Society

As a result of a change in family circumstances, a valued member of our Committee [already much depleted in numbers] is leaving Abingdon in a few days.

We therefore find ourselves in a position where running the Film Society is likely to become terminally non-viable – there are now only four of us to cover all the different aspects of programming, publicity, screenings, administration, secretarial work, etc.

Consequently, we are appealing to you to urgently consider anything you could do to help us continue on our mission to seek out and promote the appreciation of exciting, imaginative, intelligent films both contemporary and from the cinematic archive.

Apart from your love of film, no qualifications are required – just a desire to do what you can to keep the Society going.

Now in our forty seventh year of existence in Abingdon – and having survived a near three-year Covid-induced shut-down – it would be nothing short of tragic to see the Film Society disappear for the want of some enthusiastic helpers.

If you think you can help out in any way, or know anyone else who can, please contact Barry Reeves, membership secretary,  at…..http://info@abfilms.org.uk.

[If you cannot open this link please just type the address manually to your email]

or talk to any committee member at the next screening [October 27th]

THANK YOU!!!
